There are many ways candidates can impress hiring managers, but none of them can quite measure up to asking insightful questions. As we evaluate potential additions to Team Rocksteady Promotions, we like to hear questions about the following topics:
• What to Expect Early On: When a person asks what would be expected of him or her in the first 90 days on the job, we’re intrigued. This is a good sign that the candidate is already thinking about making a big impact on our company. We’re always ready to add more go-getters to the Rocksteady Promotions office.
• Something Surprising About Our Culture: We want to know that jobseekers have researched our company and work culture, but we’re also impressed when they ask for something deeper than what they could find online. This type of question shows a genuine interest in being the best possible cultural fit.
• Team Members’ Favorite Cultural Elements: This is a direct question that gets right to the heart of what it means to be part of our team. It also takes a certain amount of courage to pose this query to the interviewer. For both reasons, we’re impressed when a candidate is forthright enough to ask it.
Asking these kinds of questions sets jobseekers apart from their peers.
